Kyler plays soccer with the YMCA and Misti coaches the team?!

We signed Kyler up to play with the YMCA soccer program this summer. Unfortunately, they were desperate for coaches this year and the director called asking if I'd coach Kyler's team. I initially laughed and gave him all of the reasons that I would not make a good soccer coach. He, however, persisted and explained that the program is very "recreational" and that they provide a good manual for the game. After a couple days, I finally agreed to get the team started and I wondered what I was in for. I spent the weekend reading the manual and learning all I could about soccer. Yet, I didn't feel prepared for such an undertaking. I mentioned to my coworkers that I was going to be coaching soccer and did not feel good about it. Our receptionist volunteered her husband's services. He had grown up in South America playing soccer and he had considered coaching in the past. Thankfully, he stepped forward and became our head coach. I took the title of "Assistant Coach" and took care of the administrative tasks. We made a great team!
